"For since in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe." - 1 Corinthians 1:21
With the preaching of the Gospel many souls have been saved over the past two thousand years since the time of our Lord. Now the same Gospel which saved people was rejected and continues to be rejected by many. Many try to understand the Gospel from an intellectual or human reasoning point of view, but those who do so fail to understand and see it as mockery or a fairy tale. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. All who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
