"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth, nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:19-21 "Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ." - Philippians 3:8 Let us take time to examine the priorities of our lives. Will we be found faithfully serving the Lord and ordering all things so that we may gain Christ? Sadly, many pursue the riches and pleasures of this world. There is a saying, “all that glitters is not gold,” yet even the gold that glitters holds no profit for the kingdom of God. All earthly wealth will one day perish, fade, or be taken away. The very things a person labors to accumulate can vanish in a moment when life on this earth comes to an end. What truly matters is the surpassing excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. Are we serving Him? Are we doing all things for His glory? Only what is done for the glory of God and our Lord Jesus Christ will endure for all eternity. Praise the Lord!
